The Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in Secondary Education at The Citadel prepares aspiring educators for meaningful, effective teaching careers in grades 9–12. Designed for individuals pursuing initial teacher certification, the program offers focused preparation in Biology, English Language Arts, Mathematics or Social Studies. Graduates develop strong instructional skills, content expertise and a principled approach to education, completing the program ready to qualify for South Carolina teacher certification in their chosen subject area.
